Dedication to quality and understanding of players' needs has taken Marucci Sports from a backyard shed in Baton Rouge to the No. 1 bat in Big League baseball. Started in 2004 by two former professional baseball players and their athletic trainer, Marucci prides itself on being founded, owned, and operated by Big Leaguers. Star players including Albert Pujols, Anthony Rizzo, José Bautista, Buster Posey and Andrew McCutchen are investors in the company and remain closely involved with the Marucci product design process. Today, Marucci makes wood, aluminum, and composite bats, as well as fielding gloves, batting gloves, protective gear, apparel, and other baseball accessories.
In 2014, with the help of NFCA Hall of Fame coach Yvette Girouard, Marucci launched its Fastpitch product line that has grown to include the Pure -10 and -11 composite bats, premium leather fielding gloves, batting gloves, and apparel specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of today’s elite softball player.
