Glory's high scoring game leads to win

ROCKFORD - Despite some good individual performances from the Thunder (4-3) Friday, the Washington Glory (5-2) came away with a 7-3 win.

The Thunder struck first in the first inning, plating Erin Evans and Lindsay Gardner on a bases-loaded, one-out single from Stephanie Fischer.

After scoring one in the top of the second, the Glory lit up their offense, scoring four runs in the top of the fifth to take a 5-2 advantage over Rockford. Audrey Rendon scored on an Evans ground-out in the bottom half of the inning to bring the game back within two.

The Glory finished off the scoring in the seventh, scoring twice to bring the final tally to 7-3. Allison Kime (1-2) worked a complete game to take a hard-fought loss for Rockford, while Sarah Pauly (3-1) got the win for Washington.

The two teams will play again Saturday in the last game of the four-match series at 5:35 pm. Gates open an hour before play begins, and the Thunder box office will open at 4:00, with tickets starting at just $5.
