ROCKFORD, Ill. The Rockford Thunder has re-signed utility player Jamie Davison, team General Manager Aaron M. Moore announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.
Davison, 25, saw action in 23 games last summer for the Thunder making 15 starts. In just 30 at-bats, she hit .200 with one home run and two runs batted in. Davison also hit a three-run, extra inning home run in the semifinals of the 2007 NPF Championship Series in Kimberly, Wis. to help propel the Thunder to the championship game. It was her only at-bat of the game as she entered as a defensive replacement in the seventh inning.
I feel honored I was asked to return and I hope to make a bigger contribution towards the success of the team in 2008, stated Davison. I love to play and love being a part of this organization. May cant get here soon enough!
Davison was signed to the Thunder after an impressive showing in the open tryout in May. She was one of two players to make the team out of the tryout with the other being outfielder Noelle Adams.
Signing Jamie to come back for 2008 was something high on our priority list, said Moore. Jamie is very knowledgeable of the game and shes capable of playing several different positions. She also has become a member of the community and is well like amongst the fans.
