LISLE, Ill. - It was a sunny, breezy day in Lisle as the Comcast Chicago Bandits took on team China for day two of the four game series.
Picking up from where they left off last night, the Bandits jumped on the board early in the first. Deuces ran wild as both Kristie Fox and Nicole Trimboli smacked RBI doubles giving Chicago the 2-0 lead.
The Bandits carried their momentum into the second scoring four more runs. Leadoff hitter, Autumn Champion used her speed to beat out the shortstops throw to first. Without skipping a beat, Champion picked up her sixth stolen base of the season. Stacy May hit a sacrifice fly to advance Champion to third. Lindsay Schutzler laid down the bunt and legged out the throw to first. She also took advantage of her speed and stole second. Fox took a free pass to first. With bases loaded, Trimboli stepped up to the plate and rocked her second double of the day bringing in both Champion and Schutzler. Erratic pitching by Yan Jiaqing led to two more runs for the home team.
Chicago scored one more run in the sixth to end the game with a score of 7-0.
Solid defense and stellar pitching from both Jessica Sallinger(5-3) and closer Peaches James held the Chinese National team to just two hits on the day.
This win brings the Bandits record to 10-12 on the year. Dont miss exciting game three action tomorrow at the Benedictine Sports Complex. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
