LISLE, Ill. - Bandit faithful flocked in thousands to the Benedictine Sports Complex to witness round two of the Jennie vs. Cat showdown.
In stark contrast from their first meeting with the Thunder, the Bandits came out of the gates swinging with two hits in the first inning. The first hit came courtesy of Vicky Galindo ripping a liner past the shortstop. Galindo took advantage of her speed and stole two. Clark hit a hard double bringing Galindo around to score.
The Bandits carried their momentum into the second inning with a Stacy May double to left center. Caitlin Lever did her job advancing May to third on a perfectly placed sacrifice bunt. The Bandits third double of the night compliments of Megan Willis brought May in to score.
The fourth inning saw one more Bandit run cross the plate off of a Stephanie Brown single making the score 3-0.
Bandit bats stayed hot through the sixth with May leading off and singling to left center. Autumn Champion pinch ran for May and stole second right out of the gate. Champion then advanced to third on a wild pitch. Lever showed patience at the plate earning herself a walk. She then used her speed to add the fourth stolen base of the night off catcher Mackenzie Vandergeest. Vicky Galindo hit a high sacrifice fly to right bringing Champion around to score the fourth and final run of the night.
The Thunder attempted to battle back in the top of the seventh when Lindsay Gardner singled to left center wiping out Finchs no hitter. Finch quickly struck out the rest of the side giving Wong the pitch runner for Gardner no where to go, ending the game with the final score of four to zero Bandits.
