Allentown, Pennsylvania – The Philadelphia Force ended their season by splitting a double header against the Connecticut Brakettes on Tuesday, August 22nd at ECTB Stadium at Bicentennial Park. The double header marked the final two games for the Force this 2006 season, putting their final record at 14-28. Jodie Cox was the winning pitcher for game one increasing her record to 3-6. Casey Hunter took the loss in game one falling to 0-1. Jennifer Stewart took the loss in game two falling to 6-12 on the season. Sarah Pauly improved to 15-5 with the win striking out 10 in game two.

In the first game, Carri Leto started the Force off in the first inning with a single and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Chelsea Spencer followed with a single to center field and then induced the Brakettes into a run down. This allowed Leto to reach home for the first Force run of the inning. Jenna Hall then singled to left field as Spencer advanced to third. Emily Friedman entered the game as a pinch runner, then she stole second base and Spencer took home after an error by the catcher, Germaine Fairchild, as the Force took the lead 2-0.

Sarah Fekete (2-for-3) singled to third base to start the third inning. Leto then reached first on a fielder's choice to second base where Fekete was called out. Leto stole second base and Spencer followed with an RBI single. Spencer advanced to second on the throw and Hall followed with a walk. Ryan Realmuto hit an RBI single to bring the Force up to a 4-0 lead on the Brakettes.

In the bottom of the fourth inning the Force led off with back to back singles by Cox and Fekete. Leto reached first on a fielder's choice ground out, where Cox was caught at third. Spencer hit a shot to left field to score Fekete for an RBI single.

In the second game, the Connecticut Brakettes scored early and often in the first four innings against the Force after producing ten hits off of Stewart. Kelly Kretschman, and Kellie Wilkerson hit back to back singles in the top of the first inning. Jessica Merchant followed with an RBI single to score Kretshman. Germaine Fairchild doubled to right field for two RBIs, scoring Merchant and Wilkerson as the Brakettes took the lead 3-0.

In the second inning the Brakettes increased their lead to 7-0. Callie Piper walked and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Denise Denis. Kretschman hit a double to left center for an RBI scoring Piper. Wilkerson then hit an RBI single to score Kretschman. Germaine Fairchild brought in the last two runs of the inning hitting a deep home run, out of the park.

Candice Freel entered the game for the Force in the third inning to relieve Stewart. The Brakettes struck again after Aimee Minor walked and Stephanie Hill was hit by a pitch. Emily Friedman pulled a double play on a ground ball by Piper getting the out at third then firing the ball to first. Freel walked Denis and then gave up a single to Wright. With bases loaded Sobel and Merchant hit back to back RBI singles. Wright scored on a Force error and the Brakettes took the lead 10-0 over the Force.

Adrienne Alo hit her first home run on the season increasing the Brakettes lead 11-0 in the fourth inning.

Jenna Hall (2-for-3) laced an RBI double to score Leto, the Force’s first run of the game.

The Brakettes extended their lead in the seventh inning scoring three more runs. The Force came up to the plate in the bottom of the seventh and were unable to come back from the insurmountable lead as the Brakettes won game two 14-1.
