Allentown, Pennsylvania - The Philadelphia Force (14-24) fell in game two against the Chicago Bandits by a score of 5-1 on Monday evening at ECTB Stadium at Bicentennial Park in Allentown. Jennifer Stewart took the loss for the Force, dropping to 6-10 on the season. Gina Oaks earned the win for
the first-place Bandits, improving to 8-3. The Bandits were led offensively by Nicole Trimboli who was 3-for-4 on the night.
The Bandits got on the board early when leadoff Jaime Clark was hit by a pitch and then stole second base. Clark advanced to third on a throwing error by catcher, Ryan Realmuto, before scoring on a squeeze by Stacy May, putting the Bandits ahead 1-0.
Lindsey Cameron tied up the game in the bottom of the second inning when she
blasted a solo homerun, marking her first in her rookie season.
The Bandit offense took the lead over the Force again in the top of the third inning when May doubled to right center and Nicole Trimboli followed with a single to left field for an RBI. Trimboli advanced to second on the throw and then to third on a throwing error. Selen Collins grounded out to short stop to score Trimboli and the Bandits led the force 3-1.
The Force looked to make a comeback in the bottom of the fifth inning when third baseman Emily Friedman led off with a triple down the right field line, bringing up th
e top of the Force order. The Force rally was demolished when Sarah Fekete hit a sharp line drive to the Bandits shortstop, Jaime Clark, who caught Fekete's hit and doubled up Friedman at third base.
The Bandits scored two insurance runs in the top of the seventh on a Trimboli RBI single and a sacrifice fly by Amanda Williams, giving the Bandits the eventual game winning lead 5-1, over the Force.
The two teams will battle it out again tomorrow, Tuesday August 15th at 7:05
