Allentown, Pennsylvania - On a cool summer Saturday evening, the Philadelphia Force (13-23) of National Pro Fastpitch completed their four game home sweep against the Arizona Heat, 8-0, behind the home run power of Jenna Hall, Chelsea Spencer and Jaime Dacey. Spencer and Dacey led the
Force offense with two hits a piece and a combined total of four RBIs. Southpaw Jennifer Stewart shut out the Heat and earned the win for the Force, improving to 5-9 on the season. The Force powered past the Heat with 12 hits on two errors. Heat pitcher Desiree Serrano took the loss on the night falling to 8-12.
Force clean-up hitter Jenna Hall gave the team their first run of the night when she knocked a home run over left center field in the bottom of the first inning.
Increasing their lead in the third inning, Sarah Fekete reached first on an error and Force power hitter Spencer hit a home run to mark her third home run on the series.
The Heat put pressure on the Force but left 12 runners stranded and left bases loaded in two innings on the night. Toni Mascarenas and Catalina Morris led the Heat offense with two hits a piece.
The Force increased their lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Fekete got things started with one out, lacing a ball up the middle. Leto then followed with a line drive to left field, which was misplayed by Catalina Morris, Fekete scored on the error.
For the final rally of the night, the Force amplified their win to eight runs. Ryan Realmuto started off the sixth inning with a single and scored on Cameron's RBI double down the left field line. Dacey came to the plate and blasted a home run over the right field fence. The final run was produced after Emily Friedman led off with a double and scored when Lynsey Grace pinch hit and singled for her first RBI and first hit in her NPF career.
