Akron, Ohio-- Brandee McArthur pitched her second no-hitter of the season and Crystl Bustos drove home three runs as the Akron Racers blanked the Illinois Cougars, 6-0.

McArthur (11-2) fanned 12 and retired 19 in a row after a lead-off walk. The Racers? right-hander had no-hit the Canadian Elite Team on July 21.

The Racers (29-6) righted the ship after dropping two games at New England last Saturday.

Third baseman Crystl Bustos delivered an RBI triple in the first inning and two-run double in the sixth. Her 48 RBI lead the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF).

Center fielder Iyhia McMichael scored two runs and has 47 for the season, one shy of the franchise record. Rashunda Taylor scored 48 in 1997. McMichael was the NPF Most Valuable Player last summer.

The Racers were without the services of U.S. National Team players Jenn Topping, Kelly Kretschman, and Jamie Southern. All three are in Japan for a series of games. In addition, Lindsey Bashor is with the Greek National Team.

The Racers and Cougars meet again Friday at 7:05 p.m.
