Tucson, AZ The Arizona Heat of National Pro Fastpitch League is proud to announce the signing of Jennifer Spediacci, a member of the Italian Olympic Team. Spediacci is the sixth Olympic player to sign with the Heat this season.
Spediacci played her collegiate softball at the University of Washington from 1997-2000. At Washington, she led the Huskies to four straight Womens College World Series appearances. Spediacci rewrote the record books at Washington, holding several single season and career records. Her single season records include; ERA (0.67), shutouts (16) and strikeouts (316). She also holds the career records for; ERA (1.10), wins (100), shutouts (40), strikeouts(894) and innings pitched (820).
Spediacci left Washington with a number of accolades. She earned First-Team All-American honors in 2000, as well as Second-Team honors in 1998. In 2000, Spediacci was awarded the Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year Award.
Jennifer will join the Heat this weekend when the take on Jennie Finch and the Chicago Bandits. The first game of the series will be Thursday at 7:30 pm at Hi Corbett Field.
