Akron, Ohio-- Crystl Bustos hit a titanic home run and Nicole Trimboli enjoyed a four for four day at the plate as the Akron Racers blanked Peoria, 14-0, on Sunday afternoon at Firestone Stadium.

Currently in first place in the National Pro Fastpitch standings, the Racers have won nine straight games and improved to 11-1. Peoria fell to 5-6.

Akron outscored Peoria, 44-1, in the four-game series. The Outlaws' one run was unearned.

The Racers touched up Peoria starter Ali Arnold for six runs in the first frame. Trimboli's one-out, two-run single made it 3-0. Kelly Kretschman, Lindsey Bashor, and Iyhia McMichael followed with singles to fuel the rally.

Bustos hit her team-high fifth home run of the season to lead off the second inning. The ball cleared the left-center field fence by at least 100 feet. Akron has hit 18 home runs in 12 games to date and scored 103 runs or an average of 8.6 per game.

Amy Kyler, now 4-1, combined with Brandee McArthur to toss a two-hit shutout. In 28 innings of work for the series, Akron pitchers yielded just two bases on balls compared to 26 strikeouts.

The Racers will entertain the Venezuelan National Team for a four-game series, beginning Thursday (June 23) at 7:05 p.m.
