New Braunfels, TX (October 6th, 2016) Texas Charge General Manager Scott Smith announced today the hiring of 3 time Olympian Crystl Bustos.
Bustos comes to the Charge as one of the greatest decorated softball players in the history of the game. She has helped lead Team USA to 2 Olympic Gold Medals, 1 Olympic Silver Medal, 1 World Championship Gold Medal, 2 World Cup Championships and 3 Pan American Gold Medals. She is the greatest homerun hitter in the history of Olympic Softball and is a member of the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame with the 2004 Olympic Softball Team.
Crystl Bustos was a part of the NPF coaching staff in 2010, when she was one of the coaches for the Akron Racers. She currently owns her own business, Ruthless Sports, where she spreads her knowledge of the game to Gold Level Travel Teams around the United States
“The Texas Charge took a huge step today with the addition of Crystl Bustos as our new Head Coach.” Says General Manager Scott Smith. “Our pursuit in winning a NPF Championship now is being led by one of the winningest individuals to ever play,” Smith continues. “Winning is all she has ever known, and that is the exact culture that we will strive to create here with the Charge.”
Along with her many accolades already stated, she was a member of the 2005 Akron Racers, when they won the Championship, and 2006. She was also a part of the WPSL Gold professional team where she was the league MVP.
