Eric Collins

Play By Play


Eric Collins is considered one of the preeminent voices for women’s softball, calling hundreds of games at the professional, collegiate and international levels.

Collins returns to the softball world after spending the last five years working as the Los Angeles Dodgers TV play-by-play announcer for games played outside California and Arizona.

Previously, Collins spent seven summers with USA Softball. Doing the play-by-play for the US National Team during both the 2004 Aiming for Athens and the 2008 Bound for Beijing pre-Olympic tours. Collins also announced the World Cup of Softball from the events’ inception in 2005 to 2010.

At the collegiate level, Collins broadcast the Women’s College World Series on ESPN in both 2007 and 2008. During that time, Collins also called the TV games for the NPF’s Chicago Bandits from their first season in 2005 to 2008.

The versatile Collins is a veteran of four minor league baseball seasons calling games for the Rochester Red Wings and the Schaumburg Flyers. He also served as a pre-game and post-game host for the Chicago White Sox and Cubs and as the sideline reporter for the Chicago Bulls from 1997-2002.

He has also done exclusive work at the Big 10 Network and FOX Sports.

Collins currently works for the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA. He and his family make their home in Chicago, IL.
