Barbara Jordan

Color Analyst


Barbara Jordan is highly experienced in all aspects of the game of softball. Since 2010, she has covered the sport as an analyst for college and professional softball on ESPN, Fox Sports, RSN, CSS, the ACC Network, Cox Sports, and MLB.com. As a player, Barbara competed at the highest level as a member of Team USA for 8 seasons including the 1996 Olympic Squad, winning multiple national and international gold medals and championships including the World Championships and Pan American Games.

In amateur softball, Barb also enjoyed much success on the path to winning 5 U.S. National Championships in Amateur Softball Association competition (ASA) and an Australian National Championship. Collegiately, she was recognized on the NCAA Division II All Anniversary Team as a Top 25 player over a quarter century period. Three times she was an NCAA National Champion while playing centerfield and leading off at Cal State Northridge and three times she was decorated an NCAA Division II All American.

As a professional, Barb became the first U.S. National Team member to go into the professional ranks of the WPSL.  In the consecutive seasons of 1999 and 2000, she played for the Virginia Roadsters and the Tampa Bay Firestix respectively. For her accomplishments, Jordan was named a WPSL All-Star in 2000.

Barbara continued developing and implementing her expertise as a Division I College Coach for 10 years at Cal State Northridge and as a member of the USA Softball Coaching Staff for two consecutive quadrenniums (2004-2012). She is a member of the Cal State University, Northridge Hall of Fame and is the only member of the 1996 Olympic Softball Team that did not compete at a Division I University.

Barb has covered the NPF since 2010 on both radio and television.
